A man bear-ly avoids a mama black bear protecting her cubs as she appears to charge towards him as he’s skiing down a mountain. Jaime Stein was skiing on the Crystal Glide run on Blackcomb Mountain in Whistler, B.C., Canada, and saw an object in the middle of the run as he was flying around a corner. He quickly stopped and realized it was a bear - but didn't initially see her cub - and thinking she was heading down the edge of the ski run, figured he had enough clearance to ski past. As Jaime starts to ski while filming on his cellphone, he notices she has a cub with her - but it was too late to stop because he would get stuck in the slushy snow and lose momentum. So, he carefully skis around the bear, but as he does she takes a few steps towards him in what is seemingly a bluff charge warning him to keep away from her cub. After quickly skiing away, Jaime revealed she had a second cub hiding in the rocks on the right side of the slopes, which she was concerned about likely causing her reaction.
